Liquid Football...

Well done to the boys today who all played their part in the win.

We lost 8-2 to this team at the start of the season and the last two times we played them we have dominated but lost, today we won very easily which is a great credit to the lads.

We started off brightly and as per usual Sammy S managed to hit the bar when we all thought he would score ?. Thankfully Will came in from the left wing after at 19 minutes and smashed one into the bottom corner after some good work with him, Oli H and Sammy down the left hand side. Sammy then showed he does know how to score with a great effort running through on goal after 24 minutes.

We looked in control and aside from a couple of moments where we needed to play a simple ball out of defence and went for a more difficult and risky option they never really troubled us. Roman had a fantastic volley come back off the post following a corner after 25 minutes but shortly after Sammy made it 3 with another well worked goal and a lovely finish right into the corner.

Half time came and we made a few changes to ensure everyone got a game and they pulled one back within 4 minutes of the restart when we didn’t clear our lines and the ball fell to them on the edge of the area and their player hit a strong shot into the roof of the net which was pretty much unstoppable. However, we kept playing good football and got a deserved 4th when Will, Roman and Oli combined and the ball fell to Harry who took a lovely touch to dummy their defence front close range and slotted home.

Sammy grabbed his hat-trick with 15 minutes left when the keeper dropped the ball under a challenge and he back heeled it home.

We always looked comfortable for the win which was lovely and we played really good football with composure on the ball, epitomised by Oli H who was man of the match and bossed the midfield for the entire game.

Well done to Roman, Jim and Will as well as our back four who were all outstanding. Really every player deserves a mention because they all did their jobs well and worked together. Marley, Elliot, Fin, Harry, Dylan, Johnno, Oli F, Sam H, Jude and Sammy!!

There you go they all got a mention and deservedly so!
