It is great to be back, after Lockdown 2.0 to see the boys playing again was just brilliant.
We knew it was going to be a tough game, after our first meeting with them. However, I am so pleased that the boys never shied away from the match. I was fully expecting lots of dropouts and that never happened so that was nice to see.
We decided to carry on as normal and play the way we wanted to play so we set up our standard 4-4-2 formation, but we set 3 objectives. (1) To play better than we did against them last time; (2) To better the half time score of 0-7 from the previous game and (3) To score. We did amazingly well and achieved 2 of the 3.
The first half was really good to watch and we matched them, really held them back and played a lot in their half. We definitely rattled them and their players were getting annoyed with each other so we did show them that we could play and they weren't getting their own way. The goals were unfortunate but we were only 0-2 at the whistle and that was significantly better than before. So we had already achieved 2 of our objectives.
They came out much stronger in the second half and I think the month off began to show and we finished with the same result as previous at 0-8.
We should be very proud of the way we played and for our efforts across the pitch from front to back.
Thankyou for giving it everything and as I said at the beginning it was great to be back...
Thanks to Paul and James and I must say we have seemed to time the post match team talk perfectly as everything is put away by the time we finish! So thanks to all parents for helping with the set up and clear down... Thanks Steve and Carys for running the line.
See you next week.
UTHH...
