League Cup Tie - MATCH REPORT

What a result! 0-14 win Well done boys...

We had full control of the game and played the opposition out of the match, for the first ten minutes we made them look better than they were with some sloppy play but we soon took full control.

We must remain respectful to the opposition at all times, and our cockiness was a little bit frustrating toward the end but we should still be very proud of a super win.

We had no clue what the opposition were going to be like and we ignored the fact that they had a few girls in their squad and we played our way and that is always a good approach to take. As mentioned we started very slow and we need to be quicker as we would have been punished against stronger opponents, so we need to address this.

Our first goal came courtesy of Sam R after 13m with a Conor assist, and then at 23m Oli H found the net for the first time this season with a Sam S assist. Up to that point Hastings had looked like they may have come back at us but we thankfully kept them out and from that point on they didnt really get much play and we completely bossed the game.

The goals then came thick and fast with Conor scoring in the 27m assisted by Jude, Harry then scored the next at 36m with Conor assisting, then 39m Sam S assisted by Harry and at 42m Roman scoring with a Sam S assist, which was repeated again at 47m with Sam S scoring a super solo effort in between at 45m. So by this stage we were 9 up.

Sam R then scored another super solo goal and Sam S a further three. The final two came via Fin assisted by Sam R in the 58th and the last from Jim assisted by Jude a few minutes before the final whistle.

In all a cracking result albeit a very uneven match. It goes to show how varied the teams are in this league and it is easy to see that we are clearly in the upper half of the league. I prefer to be tested and to play matches where we are challenged but I suppose occasionally it is nice to win well and see some different names on the score sheet.

Thanks to Glen for running the line and for Paul and James with the coaching.

It was also great to see so much support, it was quite a trek but worthwhile Id say.

The draw to the next round is bound to be a little more challenging but lets see what happens! Back to the league for a few weeks...

Have a good rest of the weekend.

UTHH...!
